This is one of my family’s “nice dishes” (a salad plate I think). I hadn’t seen these in years and I went home for the holidays this year, I realized what a kick-ass design they bear.
Flashback: Lord & Taylor logo
I realized recently that an early childhood memory planted a seed for my wish to be a designer: spotting the Lord & Taylor scribble-style logo on a shopping bag at the mall in the late 1970s. At Christmas this year, to my delight the L&T gift box appeared at the family gathering. I’m glad L&T hasn’t re-branded. Long live the scribble!
